The Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawaii at Manoa, invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant or Associate Professor level starting in the 2008 academic year, pending position clearance and availability of funds. Duties: the successful candidate will be expected to be active in research and have a strong commitment to teaching. The research program of the Theory group is phenomenological in character and presently includes neutrino physics and astrophysics, flavor physics, CP violation, collider physics, supersymmetry and other physics beyond the Standard Model. The experimental High Energy Physics Group is involved in studies of B-mesons (Belle), electron-positron physics in the tau/charm threshold energy region (BES), neutrino physics, (SuperK, KamLAND), radio detection of high energy particles (ANITA), and advanced detector development for high energy physics. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in physics and a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience. For the Associate Professor level, at least four years of experience as an Assistant Professor, or equivalent, is required. Desirable Qualifications: demonstrated ability to do independent research, supervise graduate student research and initiate new programs. Pay Range: commensurate with qualifications and experience.
